THORN LIGHTING
Relocation of main factory and laboratory site in Spennymoor to new site. From an initial six companies tendering for the work, Speedrite were selected to carry out the move. The move into the new factory, was awarded ‘Factory of the Year 2009’ at the UK‘s Best Factory Awards run by Cranfield School of management and the magazine Works Management took six months to complete.

The client started from a position of six possible contactors for the contract and Speedrite were chose as the successful contractor. The factory move over an 5 week period was time critical in that four production lines had to be moved, one at a time, each over a two week period and up and running again before the next line switched off.
